The Blue Veil
Text and photographic work
Ongoing
“Some time ago, inspired by the poem “Femeia care nu s-a mai întors” of writer Maria Postu, I bought a piece of blue material from a local shop. I used it in the film dedicated to this poem. In my projects the piece of blue material was transformed into acquiring multiple meanings. This also happened with the subway season tickets which with the passing of the years became small boats, floating away, travelling into spaces beyond imagined by me.
On a trip to Spain I took the blue material with me, it became a veil. At the frontier between immediate reality and the chambers of the personal imagination, the veil became both a defense, a second skin, a fascinating place where to hide but also a bridge between two territories. Any remoteness should not be criticized. It is yet another form of illusion to be handled…”
Photos taken in Barcelona, at Park Güell, on the streets at Vila de Gracia or in front of Maldà Gallery. The rest of series were taken at Joan Miró Foundation, Jardins de Laribal, at the seaside in Marbella or on the streets of Málaga. Other images added were made in Budapest, Berlin and Copenhagen.
